Why change to “Koil Energy”?
What if you wanted to coil up almost 100 kms or 60 miles of cables, move them a few hundred miles down the coast, then transpool them to a different vessel? Where would you turn? For 25 years we have been THE TEAM to perform such a specialized task as flawlessly as you would coil up your extension cord in your backyard after taking down Christmas lights. Our new name reflects our roots and our future.
Why now?
It’s been more than two years since we transitioned leadership, a transition which was interrupted and impacted by the pandemic. During that time, the Koil Energy team has taken a stern, introspective look into how best to evolve our company. We’ve solidified our focus on our core products and services and sharpened our core competencies. Ultimately, we have a unique skillset around marinization of different technologies, especially as our customers expand their horizons beyond traditional oil and gas. This is the next step in that journey.
In addition, we are also in the process of moving to a new facility better suited for the diverse offerings we’ll provide, without losing sight of what’s most important to our customers.
Why use ‘K’ instead of ‘C’ for Koil?
K is a universal symbol for different electricity/energy metrics. It’s energizing!
Will you still provide the same products and services?
Without a doubt. We will still be the innovative company we’ve always been, offering products such as our patented flying leads, services such as our renowned testing and commissioning services and our reliable offshore installation equipment. We’re also working on the next generation of our MQC plate, and expect to qualify it for 20,000psi applications in the near future.
What does the future hold?
The future is truly limitless for Koil Energy and the team is engaged and ready. We are in the middle of a number of promising discussions and anticipate future announcements around the growing energy transition topic as well as in our traditional lines of business.
